Preference is given to applicants with a degree in a field related to hearing loss, deafness, interpreting, human resources, public policy, education, government, or communication studies.
Counselor is responsible for participating in the development and support of students by providing counseling and guidance-related activities to students wo are Deaf/hard-of-hearing and their families.Self-identification as an ethnic minority and/or a female pursuant to federal guidelines.Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and a minimum five years of professional experience, including three years in coaching, athletic administration, and/or program management.Identifies the needs of, and provides in-service training and information to, state agencies concerning people with hearing loss.Advises community members on the right of deaf and hard of hearing individuals.Answers telephone calls and performs other routine clerical tasks. Reasonable attempts will be made to accommodate special needs.

Ability to give presentations on a variety of topics and issues related to hearing loss.
